Notes
QC&StL organized early 1899 to acquire the foreclosed Litchfield Carrollton & Western RR that operated 75 miles between Litchfield IL and Columbiana, IL ( a spot on the Illinois River). This was done on behalf of Harriman interests and the Chicago & Alton, eventually acquired by the C&A in September 1904. Also shows that the A&W oval and large S was in use on keys by late 1904.
